Contributing to my initially confused, and now suspicious attitude towards the Homestuck fandom. What.

homestuck has a character that’s supposed to be a parody of “social justice warriors”, but because most of homestuck’s fanbase are young teenagers with not much in the way of critical thinking skills, they have no idea what social justice is actually about and thus take the parody character as an example of everyone who is involved in activism 

also homestuck fandom, like most fandoms, can be really fucking racist and gross. so you’re right to be suspicious. 

Thank you for this explanation! I literally had no idea how that fandom correlated with the daft folks responding to my post, and now I have a better handle on it.

  7. troubledsigh said: it is supposed to be largely full of racism/racist apologists. That said, I do know a handful of rad people who follow the comic but it seem sto give them immense pain to do so.
